THING 3 (Thing 2)
Concept & Design: Nico Schweizer
Prototyping: Martin Bernauer/Nico Schweizer
Date: ca. 2005
A multifunctional playtower with a facade made of silkscreened sliding walls or Plexiglass. Originally developed as a contemporary modern dollhouse, this expandable play tower can grow with the child's imagination. Make it a garage, a hospital, a shelf or worktable/station.
Convincing in its simplicity, this tower can be expanded in height [almost] without limit. The modern, modular design is easily assembled (and disassembled), solid and well-crafted.
Materials: Multilayer birch plywood treated with a water based glaze; monochrome silk-screen printed plywood.
The basic playtower is available with 2 floors, and 4 wooden sliding walls per floor. The sliding walls have 8 different themes.
